Solar Energy

From 2012 to 2014, Acushnet entered into Power Purchase Agreements to host and finance four large-scale solar farm projects in Massachusetts.  Acushnet has committed to, and continue to, purchase 100% of the energy credits associated with the annual 17,000 MWh generation.

In 2022, we expanded on this commitment at our Thailand ball plant by constructing and starting operations of a rooftop solar array through a similar agreement.

Waste and Chemical Management

Acushnet Company continuously strives to minimize its impact from manufacturing operations.  This effort focuses on maximizing raw material use, increasing landfill diversion, and minimizing all, but especially, toxic waste.  Across ball and club operations, less than 1.5% and 1%, respectively, of solid waste is regulated as hazardous.

Additionally, we have a robust process to ensure we are producing responsible products that comply with applicable banned substance regulations.  Monitoring is supplemented with supplier certifications that products and product inputs comply with laws in the US, EU, and anywhere else that Acushnet does business.

Supplier Review Program

Acushnet strives to treat every link in our supply chain as we would our own employees.  To this end, we established a Supplier Citizenship Policy and Global Human Rights Policy that we require our suppliers to comply with.  These policies establish guidelines for human rights, workplace safety, and environmental protection, but are considered our minimum standards and do not supersede any local laws or regulations.

Suppliers are reviewed on an annual basis and, at random, are selected during the year to undergo audits for compliance with our policies.  Continued instance on non-compliance or failure to remediate audit findings on a timely basis may trigger a review relationship with the supplier and may result in termination of the business relationship.
